From design to build and maintenance, we bring specialist skills to every stage.
We've ridden hundreds of trails across Scotland and beyond. This first hand experience gives us a perspective that's hard to replicate, we know what makes a trail great because we've felt it ourselves.
And because no two trails are the same, we don't do one-size-fits-all. We work around what each project actually needs.

Design
Great trails start with a great design
For projects big or small, feasibility and design are key to building good trails.

Thorough designs ensure projects deliver for the client, riders and environment. This is why we are passionate about working alongside you to provide a design that really works.
For smaller maintenance and rebuild projects one visit may be enough for us to walk the trail, discuss the work and produce a design, scope and costs.
For larger projects this process will likely involve multiple site visits to inform the design work. Alongside this we undertake in-depth discussions with you, the local community and riders to ensure the best possible design.
Feasibility is a big part of all our design work. We conduct in-depth research to ensure feasibility of all projects.
Design & Feasibility Includes
-
Site visits to get to know the client and build environment.
-
Full assessments of ground conditions, topography, drainage assessment and construction access.
-
Production of design, timescales and cost taking into consideration all project elements.
Each project and trail is unique and can require a different approach to building.
We carefully consider the trail design and unique location to inform, plan and implement the right method of construction for your project.
During the build we continuously test the trail, refining the design to create a trail that is creative, engaging and progressive.
Regardless of approach, we apply the same high standards of construction across all of our projects. This ensures the trail is built to withstand both high rider numbers and the ever changing Scottish weather.

Our experience in the construction industry ensures all project we undertaken fully compliant and managed with construction industry standards and best practice.

It is this combination of passion, creativity and construction that ensures we build trails that deliver.

Build
Trails built to the highest of standards
Builds Include
-
Machine builds - This is the most common approach for building larger scale projects in Scotland.
-
Hand builds - Usually smaller projects, limited access or more technically challenging trails.
-
Tailored builds - Using a mix of approaches to deliver an engaging and progressive trail.
-
Full project management maintaining the highest level of construction industry standards.

Maintain
Improving trails for safety & enjoyment.
We build our trails to be as robust as possible however maintenance is a necessary part in the lifecycle of any trail.
As well as being important for longevity and safety it can also reignite some excitement for an old trail.
Some trails require traditional maintenance such as reviewing drainage, sightlines and ensuring the trail is still to grade.
For other trails, maintenance can provide an opportunity to enhance the trail as it degrades. Adjusting the line or tweaking the features to provide a different riding experience.
We carry out one off maintenance projects and provide on-going maintenance contracts that best suit your budget and the trails needs.
Whenever we work on a trail we don't just restore it to what it was, we take the opportunity to make improvements, with the aim of reducing future maintenance.
Maintenance Includes
-
Choosing the most effective building approach, whether hand built or with machinery,.
-
Traditional maintenance - Addressing issues such as drainage, sightlines and trail or feature degrading.
-
Trail inspired maintenance working with degrading to improve and enhance the trail. Maintenance to enhance trails
There comes a time when a trail may be ready for more than scheduled maintenance.

Redesigning and rebuilding of an existing trail can be a cost effective way to invest in your current trail network without the complication and associated spend of a new trail.

This process looks at improving and adding trail features and flow. Whilst also refreshing the trail surface, improving any drainage issues and looking to lessen future maintenance burdens.

Rebuild
Breathing new life into
existing trails
Trail Rebuild Includes
-
In-depth review at what improvements could be made to the existing trail.
-
Production of scope, cost and timescales.
-
Completion of trail work using methods and tools which best fit the trail.
